Do you remember the masks that we were painting in class last week? Well on Friday (as many of you will know) they were used in our French assembly. There are lots of pictures of the assembly, on the website already but this one really shows off those fantastic masks!
On Wednesday morning we had Mrs Wade in Class 2. We read ‘Handa’s Surprise’ together and then everyone had to write about their favourite part of the story in a booklet. As you can see there were some lovely illustrations to accompany the writing.
In Numeracy we usually begin with some mental maths; this week we have been ‘Around the World! It is a game in which the children pit their mental maths skills against each other. Everyone sits in a circle (we have two circles – Year 1 children sit inside the ring made by the Year 1 children) and one child stands facing the person sitting next to them. The quickest to answer is the one who stands and moves on to pit their skills against the next child in the circle until we have been right around the world! Each circle has their own questions and everyone is very keen to play. It is amazing how good they are getting at their 2, 5 and 10 times tables, not to mention adding and subtracting!
