Class 3 February 1st to February 5th 2010

This week we have been designing our photograph frames with an Egyptian theme. We looked at different ancient Egyptian patterns and tried to use some of them in our designs.

We are reading, reading, reading and thoroughly enjoying the quizzes that we take. It really is making us think more carefully about the books we read.

Our Egyptian display is growing as we learn about the great pyramids, life as an ancient Egyptian and what the pharaohs got up to all day.

In maths Mrs Robertson showed us a way to remember how to find the fraction of a number, it’s a groovy little dance! We also challenged Mrs. Moore to a contest based on the 9 X’s table and we won 5-0. She was very gracious in defeat and has set us another challenge for next week. Our 6X’s table, better get learning them now!!!!

In literacy we are learning how to take effective notes. Our challenge this week was taking notes about the great pyramids. Sarah is explaining it all to Bethany in the photo.
