The end of the Autumn Term also saw St Chad’s saying a sad farewell to Mr Brown, who is leaving for a well-earned retirement, and Mrs Priestley, who is off to Sierra Leone in the new year.
The day started with our end of term assembly attended by parents and governors, when Mr Brown was presented with some fantastic gifts including some large black flat circles which, Harry explained, are used on a record machine with a large trumpet on the top! The best gift of all was a fabulous book filled with illustrations and comments created by every child in the school.
At lunch the whole school and invited guests shared a magnificent buffet and cake in the hall, kindly made by Mrs Spragan and her team. The day ended with carols around the Christmas tree. A fitting end to celebrate the magnificent contribution that Mr Brown has made to our school. We are very sorry to see him go but wish him all the best in his travels in January.
