Friday Assemblies

A big thank you to Mrs. Robertson who led our Lenten Reflection. She gave us a great deal to think about.

Dear Lord,

Bless our Lenten journey. Refresh within us a keen sense of justice for all in our lives and for all around the world. Lift our sights beyond indignation so that our efforts for justice may be the fruit of love which you alone provide in all its fullness.

The Judges

"Strictly Come Dancing" came to St. Chad's this week. What a spectacular occasion it was. Fantastic costumes, exquisite foot work, ruthless comments and public humiliation for some. Above all it was GREAT, GREAT FUN for those taking part and surprise and pride from mum's and dad's. "Can't believe my son can dance like that"

On Friday January 22nd 2010, class 2 entertained the whole school with a wonderful assembly about the "Three Little Pigs" It was made even harder for the children because they had to sing and say lines in French. A big thank you to Miss Walton and Mrs. Beards for a wonderful assembly.

 Today lots of children received their first red certificate.

 Well done everyone.  

On Friday October 2nd Class 3 performed a spectaluar assembly about Roald Dahl. It was a fantastic drama and a big thank you to everyone who came to watch.

Our first Awards Assembly was a great event and a very big thank you to everyone who attend on Friday October 2nd.

This academic year the school is awarding lots more certificates so more children can be rewarded for good behaviour, good work and helpfulness in and out of the classroom.

Class 4 gave us a very moving and thought provoking assembly on Friday about "Bullying" and how to stand up to a bully.

In literacy, class 4 have been working on playscripts and decided to use this theme for their class assembly. The playscript "Pay Back" was performed in front of the whole school highlighting the effects of bullying in school.

On Friday September 18th 2009 Class 2 had a drama work shop called "Super Fred". The children learnt how important it is to live a healthy life with sleep, exercise, water and eating food like fruit and vegetables. The day ended with a wonderful celebration of their work for mum's and dad's at the weekly Friday afternoon assembly.

On Friday September 11th we began the school year with our "Welcome Assembly" A candle was lit for each child and their family and we hope that the light of Jesus burns brightly for them and everyone at St. Chad's school.
