Class 3 had a fantastic day out at the beach at Seaburn on Tuesday, with grateful thanks to Mrs Tinkler, Mrs Jones and Mr Barnham who came along to help out on the day. From the moment we arrived, many of the class set about building sandcastles so it is no surprise that Ryan, Leo, Joel, Reece and Tess achieved first place in the competition (with special mention for their suspended bridge construction) and that Gabrielle, Evan, Elsa, Charlotte, Francesca and Lucie achieved second place with their extended castle complex that was ove 8m long down towards the sea. The North Sea was enjoyed by nearly everyone and queues built up outside Mrs Jones’ changing room tent!
Our paper plane building competition was won by Lucie, whose plane stayed aloft for exactly 9m. Second place winner was Leah-Brooke and our star of the week is Bradley for his fantastic learning attitude in the style of Andy Murray. He built on his poor plane performance in the first round, learned from his mistakes, made improvements and congratulated himself on how he had achieved a better distance the second time around. Great work, Bradley!
